Christmas Gifts for Outdoorsy People: 11 Ideas for Hikers, Campers and Dog Walkers

Struggling to find Christmas gifts for outdoorsy people? Same. They already own the boots, the flask and the weird bit of kit you can't name, so it's hard to buy something they'll actually like...

Here's what we'd give. Everything below is from our shop, so you can see it all in one go. Prices start at £3, so there's something for every budget, including stocking fillers.

If you just want to browse, the gifts collection and the I'd Rather Be Outside collection are good places to start.

Gifts for dog walkers and hikers

Dog walkers are mega easy to buy for once you find the right breed. Our Camped Out Co hiking view designs show a hiker and their dog taking in a view, and you can pick the breed.

1. Hiking View Prints, from £6. A hiker and their dog looking out over the mountains, trees and a quiet little lake. Pick the breed that looks like theirs: Labrador, Dachshund, Frenchie, Spaniel or Doodle. Prices run from £6 to £38 depending on the size you choose, and the sizes are in the dropdown on each page.

2. Hiking View T-shirts, £25. Same hand-drawn design, but on a tee. They're 100% organic cotton and hand-printed to order in the UK, in your choice of breed, like the Labrador, Dachshund or Cockapoo. The product page lists the colours and sizes, and there's a pine tree option too if they don't have a dog. Browse them all in Apparel.

If they love their dog more than most people (who doesn't), the dogs collection has more.

Gifts for campers and cabin dreamers

3. A-Frame Cabin Print, Christmas Edition, from £6. A cosy A-frame cabin with frosted pines, twinkling lights and fresh snow. It's lovely for anyone who'd rather be in the woods at Christmas. Find it here: A Frame Cabin Print, Christmas Seasonal Edition.

4. A Frame Cabin Print, from £6. Want something that works all year? The classic A Frame Cabin Print is the same little cabin among the pine trees, with smoke curling from the chimney.

5. Autumn Leaves Camping Mug, £11.50. A 12 oz white enamel mug with a silver rim, made for festivals, camping and adventures. It's shatterproof, but not dishwasher or microwave safe, so tell them to wash it by hand. Autumn leaves camping mug.

6. Mountain Adventure Enamel Pin, £3. A small black and gold pin for a jacket or rucksack. The product page says it's a limited edition of 100 and won't be restocked, so check it's still there before you plan around it. Mountain adventure enamel pin.

Smokey Bear stocking fillers for hikers and campers

7. Smokey Bear Signature Sticker, £3. Water-resistant and good for a laptop, water bottle or notebook. Cheapest yet coolest stocking filler going. Smokey Bear Signature Sticker.

8. Smokey Bear Signature Motel Keychain, £7. Looks like an old motel key tag, in cream, with Smokey and his signature on it. Clip it to keys or a rucksack. Smokey Bear Signature Motel Keychain.

9. Smokey Bear Enamel Pin, £8. A collectable green enamel pin for a jacket, bag or hat. Smokey Bear Enamel Pin.

10. Keep It Green, Prevent Wildfires Embroidered Patch, £8. An embroidered patch you can add to a jacket, rucksack or hat. It's for anyone who likes their kit with a bit of personality. Keep It Green patch.

An easy Smokey Bear gift set under £40

Cause the Smokey Bear items are small, they're easy to put together. The sticker (£3), keychain (£7), enamel pin (£8), patch (£8) and socks (£13) come to £39 in total, so you get a proper little stocking for a hiker without spending loads.

How to pick the right gift

• Dog walker: a hiking view print or tee in their dog's breed.
• Cabin dreamer: one of the A-frame cabin prints.
• Camper: the enamel mug, or a mix of Smokey Bear bits.
• Someone who has everything: socks, a pin or a patch. Small, but they'll actually use them.
